The department of MBA was established in 2009 with an intake of 60 students in the PG Programme. Located in the heart of Hyderabad city Scient provides contextual learning and helps in the development of students as thinking professionals,who have the ability to meet the future challenges of tomorrow`s corporate leaders. The programs develop multiple skills including managerial decision-making, problem-solving, analytical reasoning, communications, creativity and innovation.The School of Management Studies at Scient Institute of Technology takes pride in its professional and high-quality faculty, model infrastructure, technology and resources-be it in the fields of Marketing, Human Resource and Finance The Two Year Full Time Post Graduate in Management is designed to train and groom the future managers at Scient Institute of Technology.


OBJECTIVES

  • To have comprehensive understanding of the corporate world
  • To integrate the theoretical knowledge with the practical aspects of organizational settings and techniques of management.
  • To acquire conceptual and analytical abilities required for effective decision making.
  • Evolve with the dynamic and complex working environment.

THRUST

The basic thrust is on understanding the independent nature of organizational dynamics and its managerial implications. This shall help students acquire conceptual and analytical abilities required for appropriate decision making and effective implementation. A number of generic learning outcomes related to the theme of corporate performance are isolated which emphasize on the objectives listed above and link the various functional modules.


LEARNING OUTCOMES


The students will be able to :


  • Demonstrate the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to gain employment in the corporate sector or in family businesses

  • Use a range of practical tools and techniques for conducting business

CORE & ELECTIVE COURSES

The instructional methodology comprises of an optimum mix of lectures, classroom discussions, case studies, role-plays, group discussions, special sessions from professionals from industry and trade, management games, sensitivity training, management films, industrial visits and industry interaction. Students are encouraged to present their cases through individual or group presentations. Further opportunity is provided through participation of students in various seminars.


The Department has highly qualified and experienced faculty with One Professor, Two Associate Professors and Six Assistant professors. The Department has good infrastructure facilities and is equipped with full-fledged laboratories. The Department also has audio-visual facilities with one LCD and Two OHP’s for effective teaching. The staff members are deputed to participate in workshops, Conferences and refreshers courses to keep in place with recent developments in the field of Master of Business Administration.


The Department is accredited by AICTE and affiliated to JNTU-H



As a part of the curriculum, Industrial visits are arranged for students of MBA in III-Semester. Students of our Department actively participate in National-level Student Paper Presentation Contests being organized at various Engineering Colleges and Universities. A few of them have been awarded in these Paper presentations contests.


We have lab facility with a total of 60 systems, OS versions W-7.

                                            Dr. Y.SRINIVASA REDDY

Dr. Y. Srinivasa Reddy, is the Head of the Department of Master of Business Administration in Scient Institute of Technology, Ibrahimpatnam. He earned his Doctorate in Management from Mysore University and MBA from the Osmania University. He has an overall experience of above 16+ years as HoD, Assistant and Associate Professor and Trainer for premier education intuitions and corporates in the field of Engineering, Management, Accounts and as NGO. He has conducted many training programs for Management students, Executives and Managers. He is also in the editorial board as a member for one national Journal. He has presented and published more than 12 research papers in National and International Journals/conference proceedings, some of his papers are indexed in Scopus and have a good number of citations. He has worked on various research Projects.

He is more passionate towards teaching and research. His aim to mold the career of further aspirants with the adept of motivation while looking himself for enhancing an ideal place in the field of education, with a Slogan: “Education shall not be painful to a Student; instead, it should get with a pleasant ambiance”.
